The bank made the commitment during a brief ceremony held at Kimara Secondary School to hand over 50 desks valued at 4.5m/- which they donated to the learning institution.

The donation is part of the bank’s ongoing campaign dubbed Stanbic Madawati Initiative, which seeks to sustainably reduce the shortage of desks in schools by donating desks across the country and planting one tree for every desk donated to ensure a balance in the environmental ecosystem.

The desks were handed over by the bank’s Head of Consumer and High Net Worth Clients, Mr. Omari Mtiga to the Ubungo District Commissioner Heri James at an event held at the school at the end of the week.

Speaking during the ceremony Mtiga said, ‘’we recognise the efforts made by the government in improving the education sector, and we are committed to being at the forefront of supporting these efforts as we believe that quality education is crucial in creating a learned society and enlightened human capital, which are important for the development of the various sectors of the national economy.’’
