Dar equity market up 83 pct, Total market capitalization increases to 15.5bn/-

Tanzania’s equity market continued its bullish run posting a total turnover of 2.4bn/-during the five-trading session last week being an 83 per cent increase as compared to 1.3bn/- recorded during the previous week.

Hence, Total market capitalization went up by 1.18 per cent to 15.58bn/- while Domestic market capitalization went down by 0.1 per cent closing at 10.12bn/-

Notably, The Tanzania share index (TSI) closed at 3,829.01 points decreasing by 0.1 per cent and the All Share Index (DSEI) closed at 1,870.06 points increasing by 1.18 per cent.

According to data from the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE), there was one pre-arranged deal executed during the week where 2,640,000 CRDB shares were traded at an average price of 380/- per share.

CRDB and NMB continued to dominate the overall market turnover figure by 91.9 per cent and 3.7 per cent respectively.

Price movement however recorded on two domestic counters during the week, with the MBP losing the most value within the week as its stock dropped by 2.38 per cent to close off at 410/- per share.

NMB also lost 0.71 per cent of its value closing off the week at 2,800/- per share
