NMB Bank has scooped the Silver award, as the SME Financier of the Year – Africa at the Global SME Finance Awards 2023 according to statement issued today by the lender.
The Global SME Finance Awards 2023 recognize financial institutions and fintech companies for their outstanding achievements in delivering exceptional products and services to their SME clients.
Its hosted by IFC – International Finance Corporation a member of the World Bank Group, and the SME Finance Forum, Managed by the IFC (International Finance Corporation), and endorsed by the G20’s Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion (GPFI financial solutions to SME clients.
The NMB Head of Business Banking, Alex Mgeni, had the privilege of accepting the award on behalf of the bank at a ceremony in Mumbai, India yesterday.
Speaking during the award ceremony, Mgeni said, “NMB Bank is deeply committed to fostering SME growth, recognizing their pivotal role in economic and national development through job creation, driving economic expansion, and boosting household incomes. This accolade stands as a testament to our dedication to bridging the SME finance gap in Tanzania and our investments in impactful digital innovation,” Mgeni said.
NMB Bank won over 20 local and international awards last year.
