ITHUBA, Africa’s leading National Lottery Operator, in collaboration with local partner SF Group, is thrilled to announce its expansion into Tanzania. The move was solidified by an official handover of a National Lottery license to ITHUBA Tanzania on the 28th of June at a brief ceremony held at The Gaming Board of Tanzania headquarters in Dar es Salaam.

This marks a significant milestone in ITHUBA’s commitment to driving social and economic development in the region. With an investment of $20 million, ITHUBA and SF Group are poised to revolutionize the Tanzanian lottery market with their innovative platform and exciting range of games.

The license handover was preceded by an official signing ceremony that took place on the 8th of May 2024, attended by members of ITHUBA and SF Group led by their Managing Director – an established businessman – Kelvin Koka. Also in attendance were members of the Board, Director-General, and the Management of the Gaming Board of Tanzania led by its Chairman, Ambassador Modest J. Mero.

Commenting on the recent events, Charmaine Mabuza, CEO of ITHUBA, shared her excitement: “We are delighted to join forces with SF Group to bring our technology and experience to the Tanzanian market to complement their expertise in the local market. Our platform, tailored specifically for this market, is equipped to deliver an unparalleled lottery experience to Tanzanian players. With new and exciting games on offer, we aim to capture the imagination of players and drive positive change in the community.”

ITHUBA, along with SF Group, will soon begin the process of inviting retailers to sell and offer its products in Tanzania. Retailers stand to earn commissions and attract more footfall into their stores through the sale of lottery tickets.

Ambassador Mero welcomed ITHUBA, together with SF Group, to take this journey with Tanzania: “We are pleased to welcome ITHUBA in partnership with the local stakeholder, SF Group, as the National Lottery Operator in Tanzania. This partnership represents a significant opportunity to drive social and economic development in our country through the funds generated by the National Lottery. We look forward to working closely with ITHUBA to create positive change and make a difference in the lives of Tanzanians.”

With its expansion into Tanzania, the National Lottery will be a catalyst for transforming lives, driving positive change, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of Tanzanians.
