Investment galore as TIC registers 132 projects worth $3.16 billion in five months

The Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC) registered 132 projects between July to November 2022 as compared to 102 registered during the same period last year being a  a 22.2 percent  increase in registered projects, the investment body said.

The TIC Acting Executive Director John Mathew Mnali said the Manufacturing sector accounted for the lion’s share of the registered projects accounting for 67 projects followed by transportation (25), Tourism (12), agriculture (9), services (8), commercial building (7) and lastly financial services (1).

He added the value of the projects have reached $3.16 billion and the projects are expected to create 21,297 jobs in comparison to only 881 Million USD last year which created about 13,578 jobs.

“There is an increase of over 250 per cent in terms of value of the projects and over 57 per cent projected jobs an increase as a result of the proportion increase in the registered projects,” he added.
