Tanzania’s equities market continued to move further in the green zone during the trading session last week recording a total market turnover of 1.88bn/- being a 23.7 percent increase as compared to 1.52bn/- posted the previous week.
According to available data from the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE), at the close of trading session, total market capitalization however fell by 0.8 percent to 14.98bn/- while the domestic market capitalization gained 0.01%, reaching 10.85bn/- by the end of the week.
The All Share Index (DSEI) closed at 1,797.14 points increasing by 16.20% while the Tanzania Share Index (TSI) closed at 4,102.50 points increasing by 0.54%
According to the Alpha Capital Market Wrap-up, 3,856,692 deals were traded at the bourse being a 22.80% percent increase in the Volume of shares traded as compared to the previous week.
During the five-day trading session, local investors accounted for 58.4% of the sale side and 99.9% of the buying side.
National Investment Company Ltd emerged the best gainer with its stock gaining by 3.1% closing off the week at 495/- per share while the self-listed Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange emerged the week’s best loser as its stock lost 6.52% of its value closing off the week at 1720/- per share.
