Dar equities market surges 55.7 pct to 3.53bn/- on local investors’ appetite for stocks

Market activities at the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) registered a notable uptick to post a 3.53bn/- turnover being a 55.7 % surge as compared to 2.26bn/- posted during the preceding week.

According to available data from the DSE, both purchases and sales arena were still dominated by the Tanzanian investors by 99.96% and 95.77% respectively.

Total market capitalization slightly dropped by 1.03% reaching 14.49bn/- while domestic market capitalization experienced a slight decline of 0.28%, with a closing value of 11.43bn/-

During the trading session last week, the top 5 market movers included CRDB, NMB, TBL, TCCL, TPCC and NMB. 

The weekly gainers are TCCIA and DSE, with their share price rising by 16.28% and 1.09% to 250/- and 1,860/- respectively.

On the other hands there were three losers TCCL, NICO and NMB their share price falls by 4%, 2% and 1.27% respectively.
