The Permanent Secretary of the President’s Office- Planning and Investment Dr. Tausi Kida has reiterated Tanzania Government’s ongoing commitment to foster investment in Tanzania.
Speaking on behalf of the government, Dr. Kida emphasized that the Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC) and the Zanzibar Investment Promotion Authority (ZIPA) are actively providing a variety of incentives, both tax and non-tax, to encourage increased investment in the country.
Dr. Kida conveyed this message during a visit to the UK, where he led a delegation comprising government and private sector representatives. This collaborative effort, organized in partnership with the UK Government, aimed to attract capital from the UK and promote both public and private sector investments in Tanzania.
“The Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC) played a central role in coordinating and participating in the Government and Business Delegation Conference held in London, UK. This conference served as a precursor to the UK- African Investment Summit, which specifically targeted investment opportunities in agriculture, energy, mining, and infrastructure sectors within Tanzania,” Dr. Kida said.
Accompanying Dr. Kida were Dr. Habiba Omar, the Permanent Secretary of the President Office Labour, Economic Affairs and Investment-Zanzibar, and Mr. Kheri A. Mahimbali, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Minerals together, they underscored the collaborative efforts between Tanzania and the UK to foster economic growth and development through strategic investments.
